Meccaniche Veloci Carbon Fibre Watch
Italian watchmakers Mecchaniche Veloci in association with Brembo have launched the world’s first carbon fiber encased wristwatch.
Quattro Valvole CCM has been developed after 4 years of research and development by Mecchaniche Veloci and Brembo, world’s leading high performance brake discs manufacturers. The watch is made from carbon ceramic, the material used by Brembo to manufacture its high-tech brakes using the same manufacturing process as competition specific pistons.
Made up of short carbon fibers, phenolic resin and silicon, the end result is 30% lighter than cast iron. Due to the structure of the material, only a limited number can be produced in a month, with each Brembo disc yielding just seven pieces for use.
Quattro Valvole series of watches takes its name from the four valves that Ferrari used in its 1984 model 308 GTS. Quattro Valvole CCM carbon fiber watches are available with Mecchaniche Veloci distributors across the world. For more details, log on to: Mecchaniche Veloci website.
