Xenophya Design Clay Modeling Studio

The much talked about new Pulsar 250cc single could be based upon one of these concepts. Xenophya is an exclusive motorcycle design studio based out of UK with a branch office in Hong Kong catering for their Asian clients. Over years, they have been building extensive relations with Indian motorcycle manufacturers including Bajaj Auto and Royal Enfield for whom they recently developed the Royal Enfield Bullet Classic.

The first and second concept image bear striking resemblance with the Bajaj Pulsar series leading to speculation that the new 250cc Pulsar may be based off one of these designs.

Honda Fury Chopper

The chopper styled Fury is powered by a 1300cc liquid cooled v-twin engine that did duty in VTX1300 albeit with fuel injection. The front mounted puny radiator is placed between the frame rails and the rear suspension is hidden in front of the 200 cross section rear tire creating a visual of a hard tail chopper. Front is a 90/90/21 section tire which is spooned on a 9 spoke rim.

A 1300cc engine is utilised to keep costs low while Fury utilises a shaft driven transmission as compared to the conventional belt drive found on competition. At 1808.5mm, the Fury has the longest wheelbase of any production motorcycle.

More details on the Fury will be available after official unveiling at New York motorcycle show on Friday.

Honda Fury Chopper

There were endless speculations on internet forums and in dealer discussions of Fury’s radical departure from standard chopper configuration with a number of industry firsts expected in Fury not limited to automatic transmission and hybrid drive. However the US Patents dept images reveal a more old fashioned look for the Fury which seems to be based on the VTX1300 V-twin currently doing service in US market.

This regulation if implemented will severely impact sales of European giants including KTM, Husqvarna, BMW, Aprilia and many more. Ducati, MV Agusta and other manufacturers with high capacity bikes are not expected to be affected by this tariff which is expected to be applied to bikes from 50cc-500cc capacity.

American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is in uproar over the proposal and is expected to take up this issue with the US government since this duty can severely affect off-road motorcycle sales.

“There is no logical link between European motorcycles and the dispute over beef,” says Ed Moreland, AMA vice president for government relations, in his comments submitted to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. “Imposing these stiff tariffs on motorcycles would do nothing to resolve the trade dispute, but would punish American buyers of European motorcycles.”

“A 100 percent ad valorem, or higher, tariff on these motorcycles will cause serious and potentially irreversible harm to American small- and medium-sized business owners selling the vehicles. Additionally, citizens will be denied access to certain models of competition and recreation motorcycles that contribute to the lifestyle and well-being of millions of American families.”

Suzuki Hayabusa 2009

Initially only two colors will be launches in the Hayabusa and Intruder. Hayabusa will be available in Black & in Solid Black/Metallic Majestic Gold (FGG) which Intruder will be launched in Red and Black. There is a possibility that the Hayabusa to be sold in India will be a restricted model incapable of hitting speeds over 180kmph.

Ducati 1098 Streetfighter

Visordown posted the biggest scoop of the month when they released the images of the Ducati 1098 Streetfighter which is expected to be formally launched on 3rd November.

The all new 1098 Streetfighter is based on the now established engine doing duty inside Ducati 1098 & 1098S. Also visible in the images are Ohlins front forks, Termignoni carbon fibre exhaust system, magnesium alloy wheels (Marchesini?) and a single sided swingarm.

The bike sports a semi faring in front with a rear section resembling the current 1098.
