Yamaha India launches FZ16 at Rs 65,000 ex-Showroom.

Yamaha India took fight in the premium segment directly to Bajaj with the launch of the FZ16 at Rs 65000 ex-showroom against a market speculation of a price tag of Rs 80,000. Designed specifically for the Indian market, FZ16 is everything that the current market was waiting for. With amazing styling derived from the FZ1 & especially the beefy fat 140 cross section rear tire that every indian biker craves for, FZ16 is sure to achieve it’s targeted sales.

Yamaha has a target of 30,000 unit sales for the FZ16 in the next three months. With R15 already exceeding sales target of 10,000 units in the first three months of launch, FZ16 will not be far behind. 2008 will be a memorable year for Yamaha India is on a resurgent phase with a target of 10% market share in the premium segment by 2010. This year’s prominent launches include the R1, MT-01, Gladiator Type SS & Type RS, R15 & now the FZ16.
