Kawasaki’s all new engine layout.

Kawasaki has applied for patent on a all new engine layout for powering their sports bikes, motocross bikes and ATVs. As per the images available from the US patent office, the engine layout seem similar to the new Husaberg engine which debuted sometime back in the Husaberg 450.
In the new layout, Kawasaki has rotated the engine cylinder(s) forward and moved the crankshaft closer to the axis of rotation (centre of gravity) of the motorcycle. This will assist in improved gyroscopic handling of the motorcycle.
Such engine layout could possibly debut in the 2009 motorcycles to be launched later this year.
