Casey Stoner had a terrible weekend when he crashed out of race at Brno while holding a second’s lead over Valentino Rossi. Rossi has now increased his lead over Stoner to 50 points in the overall championship points tally.

Stoner was a hot favourite for winning at Brno after reigning supreme in practise sessions and qualifiers. He lost the front of his Desmosedici through a right-hand turn on the next lap, sending him sliding into the gravel when he tried to increase his lead over Rossi who was increasingly putting pressure on Stoner from back. Stoner thus crumbled under pressure for the second consecutive race from Valentino Rossi after US MotoGP at Laguna Seca.

Rossi was unbeatable after Stoner’s fall and managed a 15 second lead over Toni Elias who came second at the chequered flag after a start from 13th position on the grid.

Loris Capirossi also finished  on the podium with a successful third position on his Suzuki.

Michelin had it’s worst race of the season with Dani Pedrosa finishing 15th & the best performance on Michelin by Andrea Dovizioso in ninth position.
